Teaming up with Giulietti/Schouten Architects we were asked to come in and do a fireplace and mantel surround for the living room. Little did we know once we were finished they sprung the “real” project on us. The fireplace was just a test to see if we meshed well. Apparently we did because the next project involved taking the roof off, going up a story as well as bumping out to expand the kitchen. The clients eclectic tastes allowed for us to open our imagination with the finishes. Not only did we get to use bright and interesting colors but we got to incorporate a taste of Maui (their second home) into the master bath with a blue floor to emulate the ocean and stamped sea shells in the custom concrete counters. We have since been back to do more projects including a backyard deck and our first “Women’s cave” in the basement. Can’t wait to hear about the next project.
